A quality mould tool is one that produces parts with no defects within the smallest cycle time for the highest number of cycles. But then you need to balance the budget with ultimate quality.

Mould quality is also that multi- or single cavity mold can repeat itself shot after shot. If you can't make exactly the same cavities in multi cavity tool then forget the quality. Surely its also a process matter. What comes in quality tooling, there's no very cheap way to the goal.

Low cicle and maintenance, warranty, practical, robust, good price, good ejection/injection and thermal stability.

No offense here, but I don't see how warranty can make a quality tool? If the whole pile of steel is constantly under warranty repairs, you certainly can't dream about quality.

One could say that a warranty indicates vendor confidence in their product. It is not uncommon for a "Quality" Mould/tool to have a warranty of 1 million shots or more. Isf a vendo is willing to stand behind their product for a million shots that is pretty confident.

I see sometimes a couple of workers going to France,Germany or other places providing small adjusts. Of course those tools have scheduled maintenance and productions minimums agreed and required.

A quality mold is one that performs as well or better than required. This a broad statement, but the requirements for a single cavity mold for producing a plastic lawn chair is different from a hot runner, 100+ cavity mold that produces bottle closures, or an eight cavity, high precision gear mold. They need to produce parts at an acceptable level for that part, within the required cycle time, consistantly, with minimum down-time.
