I may be way off base but I would guess that this is a one cavity mold with a cold runner and sprue. Standard injection mold. Let us know if this is not the case.

Impression molding of plastic is used for micro molding. It has lots of limitation. The hot tool that can be stationary or a roll tool.. It is also possible to heat the plastic and use a cold tool

Hi Micheal , Thomas and David :
I have another question about sprew concerned air ejectors from UK prospect , wish you could help .
– What we need is to have sprew retaining plates which will hold the sprew in place while the main part ejects.
Then the sprew will be ejected by releasing the plates and ejecting using air ejectors.
Could you please advice what sprew here mean ? sprue ? screw ?

@ Michael
Michael – why are you concerned???? The only reason to be afraid for a little competition is if you not good at what you are doing… What do you use this forum for, if it is not for learning or connecting to others????
I think it is important to share knowledge – also with competitors – especially in a case like this, where it is terminology… the mould (or mold) industry are in desperate need of defining a common terminology…
Michael - maybe we should start this discussion in a other thread???

An Impression mould is a mould making process where the part is machined
and pressed into the cavity steel. this process is done into "P" grade
steels and is time consuming due to the many intervals when the Mandrel
and material require to stress relieved. Many of the serated bottle caps
are manufactured in this process.
