Hello , i noticed that Hytrel it's very different to others rubber . Especially for molding temperature ( deterioration ) and adhesion with steel . Now I'm trying with hot runner to directly inject but the samples aren't very good near the Injection point .
Do you have any suggestion?

HI. in my experience, we seldom to use hot runner for it. Normally we use side gate for it. Since Rubber is more elastic so that while your molding it. It has vacuum in surface, So what you have to solve is that you have to solve it. For gate area, if you have gate mark then it is normal for PG. What you have to do is to adjust the molding parameter. If side gate then it is much easier to get better result. Normally you will find the gate area will have sink. It is another skill to solve it.

TPE is quiet difficult work with. We are producing armrest for Ford Kuga and also for new Renault Clio that have this kind of material. If you can explain more your problem we can talk on it. Is it possible to send some pictures of defect?

Hello,
i have worked as an application engineer for a German hotrunner company for several years and have plenty of experience with this material from that time, as well as from 6 years of self emplyment in application engineering and 3D simulation. Fee free contacting me at anytime.

Hi Emanuele
Can you reveal what grade number we are talking about. We tried to work with some HYTREL but only as cold runner (two parts cavity) and we had some problems with filling of cavities if we didn't vent very well. There was also an issue with gate size that we had to adjust several times. It is not easiest material to play with.

Yes,Cold Runner System is better Than hot runner,Before go further I want to know some detail like-
-Is your Injection mold horizontal or vertical?
-What is the material of the mold or Cavities?
-What is the temperature of your Extrusion Unit with Nozzle & Mold Temp.
-Is it Insert Molding, If yes give some detail?
-Have You provide air vent?
-What is your curing process?

@Berk Turker Yes about the difficult to work with TPE especially with
Hytrel. For Ford Kuga and also for new Renault Clio i think that you use
TPE and not this kind of material. In my opinion the problem it's first
the smali quantity of rubber injected and second the time of cresidence.
