Large Overmold Maker
I am looking for a mold maker who can take detailed concept CAD drawings and CAD, manufacture, and test run a mold that takes a rectangular solid 24" to 48" long, then overmolds one layer of 12 to 24 pounds. After a batch of solid+layer1, the mold is reconfigured then applies a second overmold (14 to 28 pounds) to the solid and first mold. US or CAN mold makers only.
I've found just two. Any more?

Jonathan,
Finding a mold maker might not be as difficult as finding a mold-maker with molding capabilities. I am presuming that since this is in the "Injection Molding" group that you need someone with large injection molding capabilities? However your application sounds like it may be a compression molding application. A little clarification perhaps?

I doubt by observing during expected multi-month fabrication your customer can get what exactly they want .

The client wants to see for themselves the progress made at intervals rather than wait until the complete fabrication time has elapsed to discover the mold hasn't been been completed.

I don't know whether you've gotten the ones you want in USA and CA. We are the professional mold maker who can take detailed concept CAD drawings and CAD, tooling, mold testing...

It was specified to me as injection molding. Compression molding would leave seams where the mold parts fit. Using sequenced hot gates this is limited.
Also, there is a deep pattern on all four long sides which I'm not sure compression would be able to achieve.
My understanding was that facilities that make them can generally test them to determine defects prior to shipping a large machine. This may not be the case which puts a real crimp in the customer's plans.
Customer also wants to be able to observe during expected multi-month fabrication which makes this limited to manufacturers in the US and Canada.
