To answer your question “is there anyone have the interest in talking about the injection mold future?”, my response is an absolute YES. Of course mold makers are concerned about the future of molds – it is their livelihood. And, many mold makers consider building molds to be more than a job – it is a passion.
When you attend trade shows, look around, material, molding machines and automation would all be lifeless objects without a mold to show the capabilities and highlight the possibilities.
Mold making is a craft that produces products that can and do make a profound impact on the quality of life for all of humanity and mold makers are proud of what they create. If I were to describe a mold maker I would say that he (she) is an artistic engineer that loves to sculpt works of art (the mold) and uses steel as the material of choice

hi, I've been building moulds for 12 years. I love this job, but in Italy and near Bologna nowadays it's hardtimes for mouldmakers.
In 2008 I started working as freelance as mechanical designer. I've been working in other sectors but now I'll come back in plastic world. By my experience in italy, I think that is always harder building moulds.
Danny I started building moulds since 1996, in order to be a good moulmaker it is important the experience, but also to be open minded for new tecnologies , I'm sorry but a mouldmaker that is 50/60 years old may not be able to do that.

exactly! if the older craftman masters will go away without passing theyre knowlege (there are no youngers to recieve that precious information) than this profession will go down to the drain. if this is the situation in italy wich is for me an empire of engineering and design than the situation is some other place is much worst. fabrizio, how many mold makers of our age (im 35) do you know?? what is the avrage age in italy?
