Hi to all;
Proximity sensor usage on molds
does anybody have comment on the usage of proximity sensors due to control the closure state of the mold halves against collapse of ejector pins. Have you any problems about performance of these type of sensors or do you prefer mechanical switches instead of the proximity ones.

We have had more reliable results using mechanical switches.

Hi, Atalay, The use of proximity sensors & mechanical switches depends upon the type of moulds & cycle time. The response time of proximity sensor are better than mechanical switches. The proximity sensors will be better for spring loaded ejection system, smaller parts & faster cycle time.

Actually, i am hesitate about the reliabiltiy of proximity ones.We have recent lived a mold collapse that the proximity sensor was found in acted position, however its bracket was not in the ejector rear position. In the end, it caused collapse between ejector pins and mold cavities. Is there any event like this which you have lived. Best regards.
