MUD mold
Is there anyone using the MUD technology for the tooling project?
Now the economic situation is not so good, we need to figure out the way to low down the cost. Using MUD can save a lot.
We made some MUD mold for our USA Customers recently, if you are interested in this, feel free to contact me.
If you have the better idea about how to be more cost-effective, share it.
Enjoy the day. ^_^

I am currently out of the plastic injection mold industry, but I have used MUD technology successfully elsewhere. It can be very effective, especially when cavities, cores, and slides don't require independent cooling lines and when you don't require complex ejection schemes. Good planning and design up front make a big difference in utilizing MUD bases for many different parts.
MUD type systems are far more common in North America than in Asia.
Good luck!

Hi Donald,
Good to know you.
Yup. The MUD type systems are far more common in North America than in Asia. Many companies here don't know the technology, not to mention make the mold.
The trend is clearly that the technology will be known & adopted by more and more companies, it's a good way to low down the cost.
You must have rich experience in this field. Currently we havn't meet any problem, and made several MUD Molds for the customers.
But it's great to meet an expert that we could ask if encounter any technic problem when making the MUD Mold.

I have been involved with using MUD or simular systems for over 12 years now. Of course mostly for prototypes, but I have seen, designed and built many production molds in this configuration including two shot molds and parts with several side actions.
