You better use Cartridge heaters placed 2 times the diameter from the surface and with 3 times the diameter each. Install the thermocouples in between to measure the exact temperature. The sides of the mold which are exposed should be covered with insulated band heater. This enables to get even temperature on the mold. The Mold has to be of very high quality and frequent stress relieving is necessary in order to get a better mold life.

Dear sir,
Thank you very much for your valuable reply.
I have already processed the PEI ultem Material on which required the mould temperature around 150 degree c on that case i have used the cartidge heater on mould base instead of insert but i didnt get the uniform temp. on mould surface.
So let me try your calculation for placing the heater after that we ll touch you back..
Sir is there any other latest technology available in market for maintaining the mould temp.
another thing is there if i ll eject the component at 200 degree c is there any chance of dimensional variation on component??

You can use hot oil circulation in the inserts and the housing so that uniform temperature is maintained in the total mold.Check the part configuration for war page and deformation while ejecting at this temperature. Place the ejection pins in the balanced locations to minimize the deformation.

Actually PEEK softening point itself is 320 Degrees. SO there will not be any issues.
Generally speaking you can not place the parts as you like. Its better to use a Flat table on which parts can be placed. In fact for PEEK we always use a table which is enabled with cooling system. DO NOT USE METAL TABLE without COOLING System. Try not to hot drop the parts. Only ROBOT pickup. Don't use manual. If needed use best quality gloves.
There is a method of heating by using laser or infrared to heat the mold. But I have not used it so far. Try to use the best grease which can withstand min 600 Deg.

To get uniform temperature, hot oil circulation is ideal. Along with hot oil circulation, "Heat Transfer Rods" can be added in thin / deep sections. Similar situation happened to us in a Medical Component of PES (Polyethersulphone) during 1987 and successfully handled. Hope this will help you.
