Through my research, I came across the following site: http://kazmer.uml.edu/Software/JavaCost/. Can anyone verify if this cost estimating calculator is accurate and reflects a true estimation of a manufacturers cost of manufacturing?

Nathan... This cost estimating looks right with all the data given. I didn't see any runner weight, scrap, packaging or labor included in the pricing so you don't want to miss that. U Mass Lowell knows what they are doing so you are using a good reference but never stop asking quesitons.

Hello Nathan, The estimating calculator looks to use old plastic material pricing, The price of Nylon is currently well over $2 if not $3. I usually build and run smaller parts than the example listed, so as far as the total tooling cost it seems a bit high to me also. Are you looking for the tooling costs also? I have my own excel spread sheet that I use for pricing injection molded plastic parts. If you send me your email I will send you a copy to see if it will help you. Best of luck, John
